GUITAR HERO

So we hear about this Guitar Hero contest out in Chesterville about an
hour outside of Ottawa. Jon tells us the details and says it's being
held at the county fair. We figure ...what the heck.. and off we go.
Jon is flipping from nevous one second to "I think I can win this" the
next. We get out there and sign up. There is one kid younger than him
and another 18 that are older (up to age 25). It's head to head
battle...three rounds and then its winner take all for the top three.
Jon knows the older guys are awesome but still thinks he can take
them. Long story short, he wins the thing by 2200 points. Does an
encore where he knee-slides and plays behind his back and gives the
crowd quite a show. Win the Guitar Hero game, a Wii console, two
controllers and two guitars......total value....$500+. Ask him if
he's proud. Ask us if we are proud of him. Erica can't wait to tell
all her friends. They all play and think Jon is unbelievable. He lives
for this game and today was the biggest day ever for this nine year
old kid.

PHOTO ENHANCEMENT

Never assume a shot is a throwaway just because it is under exposed and chocked full of noise. A tweak here and a tweak there and you have a classic B & W portrait.

Christmas Greetings 2007

So boys and girls…here we are again. For many of us, we are thankful just for being here and to the others…good job on looking after you the past twelve months. The Reid family have enjoyed 2008 to its fullest. School marks were good; health was good and the summer vacation could not have been better. All relatives are healthy and happy. I guess our only disappointment was not making it back to the rock this summer. We keep threatening to visit but alas, something always comes up. Age is starting to mellow this old geezer and that is probably a good thing. Happiness really comes down to heath, not money or material things. A very good friend of ours was recently diagnosed with a very serious condition and all our thoughts are with her and her family. Her full recovery is the most important thing right now.

And so without further adieu, I again present all the people that have left a lasting impression on me over the last 48 years. Peace be with you all and long may your big jib draw.

Slabby Takes Another Hit

Poor Davey (Oldslabsides) from RP. I've done a lot of spoofing on the ol' boy in the past four years. Someone requested another so being the accommodating type, I accepted the job. Here are the before and afters and as always...click on the image for full view.

Comics

Stills looking for a decent "comic" application. If anyone knows of one please drop me a line and let me know the name. This picture was accomplished using three or four apps I do have and while the result isn't too bad, it's still not what I'm after. Thanks to dmax at RP for posting this awesome shot of his better half.
