Last night I had the pleasure of getting together with two old friends from my childhood. We played street hockey (you could do that then) in the winter on Highland Ave and baseball in the summer up in the field behind the (then) CNIB building. We raided Pullin's garden and we tobogganed on Clyde Wells hill. We got busted for firecrackers and we warred with our G.I. Joes. We had quite the laugh as we recalled the defining moments of our childhoods. My brothers and friends all grew up in the Alteen house. Shirley would tolerate us and Doug Sr. had no problem with us as long as we were out of the house by dinner. They had the best ice cream and the big draw... the billiard table, where Pill & Kill and Skittles were the games of choice.
It's too bad we lose touch with the people we grew up with. It's truly great though, to reconnect. Thanks for a great night, boys.
One more to add. Got to have a little fun here.
